6-12 Oct 2005. The great conductor Claudio Abbado is in Rome for a week-long festival centred around him, with a programme of music and a host of musicians close to Abbado the artist and Abbado the man. The composers featured are Mahler, Beethoven, Brahms, Schonberg and Nono, while the protagonists are artists who Abbado collaborates with such as Martha Argerich, Maurizio Pollini, Daniel Harding, the Lucerne Festival Orchestra and the Mahler Chamber ensemble. A full programme of as many as three events per day filling all halls of the Auditorium-Parco della Musica.
