River boat update
A public river boat service has finally set sail on the Tiber after lengthy delays. However, the project, run by the Italian-French Ponte S. Angelo company, is still in an experimental phase and there are currently only two boats in operation. The service calls at six landing stages: Ponte Duca dAosta (near the Olympic Stadium), Ponte Risorgimento, Ponte Cavour, Ponte S. Angelo, Ponte Sisto and Calata dellAnguillare (Isola Tiberina). Tickets cost 1 for a single journey of up to six stops and 2.30 for a day, and can be bought on board or at tourist information points. For more information tel. 066789361, www.battellidiroma.it.
