5-20 July 2006. This event has been promoted by the Accademia Nazionale di S. Cecilias new music director, Antonio Pappano and includes the Russian composers last three symphonies and his best known piano concerto, as well as music for the ballet Romeo and Juliet. Concerts take place inside the auditorium on 5, 10, 14 and 20 July. Antonio Pappano conducts the Orchestra dellAccademia Nazionale di S. Cecilia with the exception of the last concert that sees the young star-of-the-moment, Venezuelan Gustavo Dudamel, on the podium. All concerts begin at 21.00.
