The New Chamber Singers, the Roman choir which sings mostly sacred music but occasionally performs secular pieces, such as last years Dido and Aeneas by Purcell, are looking for tenors to join the group of 30 members, who range in age from 17 to over 60. Most concerts take place at All Saints Anglican Church in Via del Babuino; the churchs organist Wijnand van de Pol is also the groups musical director.
Andrew Cochlin, choir chairman, said: Were open to all nationalities. Although the main purpose of the group is musical, its an excellent place for expatriates to meet both other expatriates and Italians in a friendly environment. Current members are from the United Kingdom, United States, France, Holland, Germany and Australia, as well as Italy.Prospective choristers should be able to read music.
