Flanger by Atom Heart/Burnt Friedman. The Flanger project is a combination of traditional funky jazz sounds with editing and experimental filter techniques and solutions. Flanger was born in 1998 as the result of the meeting of two top German musicians, Uwe Schmidt aka Atom Heart/Seor Coconut and Bernd Friedmann aka Burnt Friedman, both of whom had been prolific and dynamic on the arts and music scene since the early 1990s. Their artistic objective was to create non-repetitive, organic and extremely complex music, a long way from the tried and tested standards of techno, electro music and other genres of contemporary electronic music. With Flanger, the duo has come up with its best work yet. The strength of their sound lies in the combination of traditional instruments (with magnificent use of percussion and the vibraphone) and electronic sampling.
