29 June-30 July 2005. Jazz, pop, world music and its contaminations make up this years summer programme at the Auditorium-Parco della Musica. The 21 evenings under the stars in the open-air "cavea" at the centre of the auditorium complex present an impressive line-up of international stars. Keith Jarret shines especially brightly in trio with Jack DeJohnette and Gary Peacock (15 July), and so does the legendary leader of the Beach Boys, Brian Wilson (22 July). But the programme also has space for the new generation with Sigur Ros from Iceland and the young jazz musician Francesco Cafiso. Other names to look out for are those of pianist Ludovico Einaudi, saxophonist John Zorn and a varied section of world music and ethnic musicians including Madredeus, Cheb Kaled, Talvin Singh and Al Farka Toure.
