The Agenzia delle Entrate, the government tax office, part of the ministry of economy and finance, has published a booklet for foreigners resident in Italy, explaining many of the most common tax payments. The booklet, available in French, Spanish and English covers fiscal codes and VAT numbers, rent contracts, buying a house and the benefits available for first time buyers, death duties, refunds and tax payment forms and how to react if a tax declaration is contested, found to be irregular or incorrect.

The booklet will be available in all Italian tax offices and in the offices of the ministry of labour or it can be taken downloaded from the internet. See www. agenziaentrate.gov. it
