Around 22 different types of honey will be available at a free tasting at Palazzo Rospigliosi on Fri 20 Jan. Judges of the competition Grandi Mieli di Lazio 2005 singled out the honeys from around 127 entrants for excellence of smell, flavour and appearance. The tasting will take place at 16.00-18.00.
In addition, there will be two guided tastings at 16.30 and again at 17.00 entitled Il miele e il cacio, which will give the public a chance to get to know the honeys of Lazio together with the regions best cheeses. Among the delicacies on offer will be chestnut honey with semi-ripe caciocavallo and pecorino cheese, and eucalyptus honey with marzolina di Frusinate cheese. The guided tastings are also free but should be booked in advance by Thurs 19 Jan. If spaces remain, these may be booked on the day in the Palazzo Rospigliosi office.
