6-23 Oct 2008. This is the 29th edition of the sophisticated contemporary music festival directed by composer Ada Gentile. As usual the festival presents new music from different nations with Italy, France, England, Sweden, the United States, Austria and Canada starring this year. The programme presents 42 works by established and emerging composers, 17 of which have been commissioned by the festival and are therefore world premieres. What really stands out at a glance is that there are many women composers in what used to be a predominantly male world.
