13 April. The department of history and humanities at Rome's John Cabot University presents a day dedicated to avant-garde American composer John Cage (1912-1992), as part of the worldwide celebrations on the centenary of his birth.

Cage was a pioneer in innovative techniques in alternative piano sound production, and explored aspects of silence through studies in Zen, Indian and Buddhist philosophies that led to the composition of his most famous work 4
