This time the Galleria Borghese marks the 400th anniversary of the death of Caravaggio by displaying his masterpieces together with 20 paintings by one of the great artists of the second half of the 20th century, Francis Bacon, whose birth centenary falls this year. The works by these two artists, who expressed the torment of existence in their paintings, have been borrowed from leading international museums.
