Best DJs in Rome this weekend

As you probably know, in Italy we don’t know who is gonna be our next prime minister, republic president, even the Pope! We are in a transition and very uncertain time, the only thing we can decide is where to party this weekend!

There is no doubt that Thursday will be Goa’s Ultrabeat night with german superstar Ellen Allien (introduced by DJ Red). She’s a 360 degrees artist, developing her creativity also for graphic, art and even fashion. She’s also a producer and her record label BPitch Control is one of the most influent nowadays, including for example artists like Ben Klock, Paul Kalkbrenner and Seth Troxler.

Staying in north Europe, dutch duo Homework will perform at Lanificio159 on Friday. Their style is much more house but not conventional since it’s ‘dressed’ with many different sounds and styles (it’s not casual that they have entertained people at Panorama Bar in Berlin or at Social Club in Paris). Back in Germany (and also at Goa Club), shifting from a duo to a trio, Moritz von Oswald Trio will please you with their more structured electronic. They published three amazing LPs on Honest Jon’s Records (owned by Damon Albarn, Blur frontman).

If you like a mix between classic house, Detroit techno and jungle go to Animal Social Club and enjoy Eats Everything DJ set. From Bristol (UK), where many important artists came up, he played almost everywhere in the world and he’s also appreciated as a producer.

Rebel Rebel night present, at Warehouse, Tale of Us, a talented duo (originally from Canada and USA but based in Milan and now in Berlin) that mix different styles (pop, house, rock, nu/disco). They published on record labels like Visionquest (Seth Troxler) and Cocoon (Sven Vath) and performed in many big festivals like Sonar or Movement (not so bad, right?).

Finally for Friday, another party at Augustus, ex movie theatre in the center of rome, organized by Tramp’s crew with Luca Bernardi’s DJ set.

Also Saturday seems to be a ‘Northern affair’. Adam Port from Germany will perform at Goa Club offering his techno influenced by his previous genres (hardcore and hip-hop, but also dub and psychedelic rock). Still from Germany, Roman Flugel will play his sounds at Ribbon Club. His music formation is classic but he evolved, influenced by german electronic atmosphere, as a producer being also co-owner of Klang Elektronik and Playhouse record labels.

Rashomon Club answers proposing The Advent (UK), a career started in late ‘80s publishing over the years for great record labels like DJ Hell’s International Deejay Gigolo.

If you are looking for Drum’n’Bass then go to Brancaleone to see Level 1 Festival: you will be able to see several DJs performing, like Optiv (coming from –not surprisingly- UK).

Are you even more uncertain after all?
