I was Looking at the Ceiling

and then I saw the Sky by John Adams. 11-17 Sept. Conducted by Alexander Briger and directed by Giorgio Barberio Corsetti this is a Theatre du Châtelet di Parigi production. The work by John Adams, which has been described as a hybrid of opera, pop and musical, was inspired by the 1994 Northridge earthquake in Los Angeles and premiered in Berkeley in 1995.

Adam's other operas include the Death of Klinghoffer and Nixon in China.
