Fictional biography about the British royal family in the days following the death of Princess Diana in a car crash in August 1997, which has just seen Mirren carry off the award for best actress in her role as the Queen at the Venice Film Festival.

Il Mercante di Pietre (It). Dir. Renzo Martinelli, starring Harvey Keitel and Jane March. A seller of precious stones and convert to Islam is recruited by a terrorist cell to seduce the wife of a history professor as part of a lethal plot.
The Road to Guantanamo (UK). Dir. Michael Winterbottom and Mat Whitecross, starring Riz Ahmed and Farhad Harun. Four friends on their way from the UK to a wedding in Pakistan are arrested by American soldiers and sent to Guanatanamo, leaving two years later with emotional and physical scars that will last a lifetime.
