The second title on the programme of the current opera season at the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa is Il Cappello di Paglia di Firenze by Nino Rota (20-28 Nov). Once again famous singers (including Pietro Spagnoli, Laura Cherici) perform alongside those at the start of their careers (such as Alessandra Marianelli). The conductor is Bruno Bartoletti, a veteran and an expert of late 19th-century and modern opera. The director is Damiano Michieletto, who is still taking his first steps. He was responsible for the production of La Gazza Ladra by Rossini this summer in Pesaro
