Recycling rules for Rome.
Rome city council has introduced more rules to make recycling rubbish easier. The council and AMA, the refuse disposal company, have plans to provide the whole of Rome with the various bins necessary for the differentiated system of collecting paper, plastic and glass separately. Once the equipment is in place, which the city says could be by the end of May, fines of between 50 and 300 will be imposed on anyone caught not dividing rubbish and not putting it in the correct disposal bins. Apartment blocks will also have to provide condominium facilities to enable inhabitants to divide rubbish correctly, although no time limit has been given for this.
Anyone caught dumping rubbish outside a bin by the city police will risk a penalty between 25 and 619.
