Elizabeth Geoghegan reading

The Loyola University Chicago in Rome presents a reading by Elizabeth Geoghegan on Thursday 20 March at 19.00.

The Rome-based American writer will read from her recently-released To Rome Without Love: The Marco Chronicles, described as an "hilarious, irreverent memoir of a young American woman's romantic (or rather, unromantic) misadventures in the eternal city."

Shattering readers' preconceived notions of a glamorous Italian expat life, Geoghegan offers a realistic and refreshing antidote to the Eat, Pray, Love rose-tinted view of the Eternal City.

According to her biography, Geoghegan "writes in English, dreams in Italian, and wishes she could remember how to speak French. She lives in Rome on a dead-end street between a convent and a jail."

To Rome Without Love: The Marco Chronicles is currently rated Amazon's number 2 in Kindle Singles for Humour and number 3 for Essays and Memoir.
