2-24 Sept 2006. For almost 30 years, September in Turin has been a month dedicated to great music. The first festival, in 1978, was conceived to offer music lovers excellent classical music by famous international conductors and orchestras. Over the years the event has opened its doors to all forms of contemporary music. This year includes a tribute to Mozart, conductors Riccardo Muti, Myung-Whun Chung, William Christie, Philippe Herrewege and features Peter Maxwell Davies, traditional music from Vietnam as well as the lesser-known music of Japan, Java and Mali.
