2 Oct-20 Nov 2005. The Milanese contemporary music festival dedicates this edition to the Romanian-born composer Iannis Xenakis (1922-2001), a unique protagonist of 20th-century music thanks to the originality of his work and of his outlook. Organisers of this festival, entirely dedicated to him, have tried to highlight his most significant compositions, ranging from solo to large orchestral works, from choral to electronic music. The sophisticated project sees the presence of the Quartetto Danel, the choir of Budapest Radio, the Asko Ensemble, Amadinda a well-known ensemble of Hungarian percussionists. An international conference on Xenakis completes the programme, together with the projection of documentaries and videos on his life and his art. Events take place in the Sala Verdi of the conservatory, at the Auditorium di Milano, Teatro Strehler, Teatro alla Scala, Teatro Dal Verme, the Spazio Antologico in Via Mecenate.
