28 May-6 Sept 2009. Paintings, photographs, masks, posters and videos narrate the history of Japanese theatre. The starting point of the exhibition, organised in conjunction with the Japan Foundation, is the contemporary Japanese theatre. It then moves back in time to highlight moments of both rupture and continuity in the theatre and the society that generated it.
