20 Jan-6 May.
Acclaimed as one of the finest image makers of our time, Cartier studied painting before embarking on a career in photography in the 1930s. Together with Robert Capa, David Seymour and others, he founded the photographic agency Magnum in 1947 and his work took him all over the world. This exhibition is made up of 44 black and white photographs, each of them accompanied by a comment by a famous poet, intellectual or writer he knew.
