The American Academy in Rome will host a lecture by John Bodel entitled "From Columbarium to Catacombs: Communities of the Dead in Pagan and Christian Rome" on Tues 7 March at 18.00. Bodel, Professor of Classics and History at Brown University, will explain the major changes in burial practices in Rome over the first three centuries. Free entry. All visitors to the American Academy must present a legal document of identification at the entrance.
