20-25 Sept 2006. This is the 20th edition of a drama festival that has provided a launch-pad for both playwrights and actors such as Simona Izzo, Margaret Mazzantini, Luca Barbareschi, Sergio Castellito, Massimo Wertmuller and many others. Actors Seeking Authors was established in 1985 with the aim of creating a kind of gymnasium for playwrights. It rapidly came to the forefront of the Italian theatrical panorama partly filling the void in identifying, promoting and appreciating young Italian authors. On the first two evenings the public and a jury choose a selection of six of the best one-act shows that will reach the final on the last night. The overall winner will then be chosen by a commission made up of big names from the world of entertainment.
