Radio bulletins have begun at the 49 metro stations across Rome broadcasting up-to-date city news and information. The aim of Gr Multilingue as the service is known, is to help tourists and foreign residents, as well as locals to move around the city more easily by reporting predominantly on the citys transport situation. There will be news on transport strikes, diversions, road construction and maintenance work as well as the information on parking charges and traffic blocks. There will also be information specifically aimed at the numerous different foreign communities in the city.
The 20 three-minute bulletins each day, from 07.10 to 20.50 will be transmitted in six different languages; four bulletins in English and Romanian; and three in French, Polish, Spanish and Italian.
