The Rome Baptist Church will celebrate its 50th anniversary in April 2013. The English speaking church officially started in April 1963 through the efforts of American Missionaries. The RBC as it is well known in Rome and environs is a multi-cultural church, where over 40 nationalities across the globe congregate to worship the living God.
According to the 50th Anniversary Committee planning for the celebration, events lined up present the opportunity to thank God for all he has done in the five decades of the existence of the church which has been reaching out to the community through evangelism, attending to the needy, mentoring the youths, organizing English classes for the inhabitants of the Eternal city; raising leaders for the body of Christ as well as the community and continuing to work to raise a people of God for a just society and eternity.
As part of the program of events marking the anniversary, a gospel concert is scheduled to hold on April 26th, 2013 in Piazza San Lorenzo in Lucina at 6.00pm to which the general public has been invited. Various gospel groups, including the RBC Choir, The Chinese, African Fellowship, Filipino Mission and Gospel Choirs among others, would be performing during the concert.
The highpoint of the program according to the Chair of the Organizing Committee, Mrs Donna Seibert Ricci, is the international worship service holding at the church on Sunday 28th, 2013. Prayers, praises and thanks would be offered to God for all He has done and would continue to do in this Ministry. "The general public is cordially invited to join us in this celebration."
The RBC is the first English Baptist Church to take-off in Rome.
