3-20 July. A new production of Verdi's opera La Traviata debuts at the Baths of Caracalla for the 2018 summer season of Teatro dell'Opera di Roma. The director is Lorenzo Mariani, artistic director of Palermo's Teatro Massimo. Yves Abel and Carlo Donadio will conduct the Teatro dell'Opera orchestra.
Mariani has directed many operas worldwide but this is his first production of La Traviata. His interpretation of Il Barbiere di Seviglia was performed at the Baths of Caracalla in 2014 and 2016. For information including performance dates and tickets see Teatro dell'Opera di Roma website.
