5 Sept. The Hard Rock Cafe on Rome’s Via Veneto presents Freddie for a Day, a day-long initiative in honour of Queen frontman Freddie Mercury, on Monday 5 September.

The event takes place on what would have been the 70th birthday of the late British musician, with celebrations from 11.30 until night time, including a special Freddie for a Day menu, a Rock Quiz and live music by Queen cover bands.

There is also a charity cycle, costing €15, of which 50 per cent will be donated to the Mercury Phoenix Trust, an AIDS awareness organisation, established by the remaining members of Queen and the band’s manager in the wake of Mercury’s death from the disease in 1991.
