Until 12 June 2011. Note that G.N.A.M. from its vast holdings of contemporary Italian art, which for a time was huddled together as in an attic, has recently extracted ten nuclei of works of their most outstanding artists. Now you can enjoy them neatly installed in large open spaces, each alone.
The section devoted to Fontana is the most splendid, dominated by a kingsize red canvas, elegantly slashed in just the right places. Further there is influential and significant work by Burri, Gnoli, Leoncillo, Manzoni, Novelli, and by Afro, Capogrossi, Consagra, Guerrini. A pleasing reconsideration for stimulating fresh viewing.
