Caravaggio e il Maestro di Hartford
16 Nov-12 March. Exhibition examining the origins of Italian still life in a Roman context at the turn of the 17th century.
The exhibition features still life works by the so-called Maestro di Hartford, a mysterious artist whose paintings - according to some theories - are believed to be the work of a young Caravaggio.
The artist's fictitious name stems from his best-known painting (Still life of flowers and fruit) at the Wadsworth Atheneum in Hartford, Connecticut.
The exhibition features around 40 works by Caravaggio and the Maestro di Hartford alongside their peers.
