Strikes are back
New transport strikes are scheduled again now that the festive season it over. On Friday 9 January urban public transport systems throughout the country will come to a standstill for most of the day. Similar strikes in November and December paralysed Milan, although in Rome buses and the underground were available to take commuters to work in the early morning and get them home in the evening.
