Commuters have been evacuated from the Spagna station on Rome's Metro A line due to smoke.
The fumes were possibly caused by a broken-down train being towed from the Cornelia station where it had earlier caused the closure of the Metro A line between Ottaviano and Battistini.
The A line is up and running again however the Spagna station, located beside the Spanish Steps, remains closed to the public.
