Public transport strike in Rome on 15 May

Black Friday for Rome’s commuters.

A 24-hour public transport strike is scheduled to take place in Rome on Friday 15 May, causing disruption to commuters from 08.30 until 17.00 and from 20.00 until end of service.

The strike will affect ATAC buses, trams, metro and light rail services Roma-Lido, Roma-Giardinetti and Roma-Civitacastellana-Viterbo, as well as the MA1 and MA2 shuttle bus service provided to deal with the three-month early closure of the Metro A line, from 21.30 until end of service.

Employees of suburban bus company Roma Tpl and regional coach service Cotral are also adhering to the strike, while during the night between 14 and 15 May the city’s 27 night buses are at risk.

The state railway service will not be affected by the strike.
