More women graduate than men.
Data released by the ministry of education, universities and research show a widening gap between the number of women being awarded degrees at Romes universities and the number of men. In the year 1 January to 31 December 2004 31,366 students took degrees, of whom 17,971 were female and 13,395 male, whereas in the year 2005 the total was 34,759, of whom 20,349 were female and 14,410 were male. Data refers to degrees at La Sapienza, Tor Vergata, Romatre, Luiss, Lumsa, Campus Biomedico, Iums and S. Pio V.
