FAI spring open day throughout Italy
On 27 and 28 March nearly 600 libraries, stately homes, archaeological sites and religious buildings all over the country are open to the public free of charge for the 18th annual spring open day organised by the Fondo Ambiente Italiano (FAI). Many of the participating sites are not normally accessible to the public.
In Rome visitors can take a peek inside the late 16th and early 17th-century Palazzo Chigi in Piazza Colonna, which has been the seat of the Italian government since 1961. Here they can admire the richly decorated Galleria Deti next to the prime minister
