Rome city bus now connects Ciampino to Metro B line.
Rome's public transport company ATAC has introduced a new city bus line connecting the capital's Ciampino airport with the Metro B station at Laurentina.
The 720 line comes into effect on 18 September, departing every 20 minutes from the number 4 bus stand in front of the airport.
The fare costs €1.50, the same as all other city buses, and tickets can be purchased inside the airport at the tourist information point.
The 720 is not an express route, however, and there are 22 stops along the way to Laurentina, in the southern EUR suburb. From there it is possible to connect to Rome's central Termini station using the Metro B line.
Until now it was not possible to reach Ciampino using the city's public transport network, with tourists normally relying on taxis or private coaches from Termini.
