This festival begins with an initiative called The Silk Roads, dedicated to the overlapping cultures and religions of countries in the Middle and Far East located along the ancient caravan roads. Featuring history, art and archaeology exhibitions and conferences, among the highlights is the world premiere of the exhibition The Roads of the Gods inspired by a 30m long, early 16th-century Chinese map found recently in Japan.
