THE ROYAL WEDDING

29 April 2011. His Royal Highness Prince William will marry Catherine (Kate) Middleton in Westminster Abbey on 29 April 2011.

The BBC has predicted that the wedding will be one of the most watched events in television history, with a global audience of over two billion people. By comparison, the royal wedding in 1981 between HRH Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer attracted a broadcast audience of one billion.

Around 1,900 guests have been invited to the royal wedding. After the ceremony Her Majesty The Queen will host a lunchtime reception at Buckingham Palace for around 600 guests. Approximately 300 have been invited to attend a dinner at the Palace in the evening hosted by HRH The Prince of Wales.
