29 June-15 July 2007. The 50th edition of this arts festival is sadly also the first to take place since the death of its eclectic and energetic founder, Gian Carlo Menotti. The programme this year contains three important tributes to Menotti the composer: the inauguration with the opera Maria Golovin, a Menotti Concert which includes The Apocalypse, and the closing concert in Piazza del Duomo with Missa O Pulchritudo.
