Roma nella camera oscura. Fotografie della città dall’ottocento a oggi
27 March-22 Sept. Palazzo Braschi hosts an exhibition comprising photographs of Rome spanning from the birth of the medium in the mid-19th century up to the present day.
The earliest images on display illustrate the topographical, historical and social aspects that characterised the final years of papal Rome as well as the emergence of the profession of the photgrapher and the beginning of the photograph's role as a souvenir for tourists and pilgrims.
The images in the exhibition are the work of both Italian and foreign photographers including Britain's Robert Macpherson and James Anderson
