Rome displays secret Michelangelo drawing

22 April-7 May. A newly-discovered sketch by Michelangelo is on display at Rome's Capitoline Museums until 7 May.

The pencil and pen work by the Renaissance genius was found hidden behind his drawing The Sacrifice of Isaac during a recent restoration in Florence.

Michelangelo's sketch, described by Italy's culture minister Dario Franceschini as "an extraordinary find", features an angel reaching down from heaven to stay Abraham's hand as he prepares to sacrifice his son.
