From the 1 July Pompeiis Lupanare site, one of the most famous Pompeii sites in the world, will reopen after a year of restoration work. Lupa is the latin term for
"prostitute" and in fact Lupanare was the most prominent of all the numerous bordellos of the period. Erotic Paintings are depicted on the walls of the structure. The Casa dellAra Massima will also be open to the public from 1 July, a house believed to belong to an artisan of the Pompeii period which features a collection of frescos, bronze instruments and a table decorated with Egyptian sphinxes.
