8-17 July 2011. This international jazz festival is probably one of the best known of its kind in Europe. This edition offers ten days of concerts throughout the city. Many of the events are free.

As always the programme is varied and features a lot of big names, not only in the field of jazz. Names that stand out this year include those of Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock and Marcus Miller, performing a tribute to their maestro Miles Davis, Latin rock star Carlos Santana, blues artist BB King, and Trombone Shorty, one of the rising stars of New Orleans, with his band Orleans Avenue.
