Summer has arrived and it is festival time once again. The season opens with the Festival dei Due Mondi or Festival of the Two Worlds in Spoleto (27 June-13 July), where there is a feeling of renewal and great excitement. Following the death of Gian Carlo Menotti, the presidency and artistic direction have been handed to Giorgio Ferrara, a film and stage director who has worked with famous directors such as Visconti and Ronconi.
