Nancy Watkins at Keats-Shelley

The Keats-Shelley House presents an exhibition entitled Visionary Flowers, featuring the original drawings published in Nancy Watkins' most recent book, Il fiore è un'idea, with rhymed legends by Lucio Persio.

Organisers say that Watkins' grattage technique finds a singular parallel to Shelley's poem The Question, with its dazzling explosion of "visionary flowers", from which the exhibition takes its title.

Born in Chicago and resident in Rome, Watkins' artwork has featured on numerous book and magazine covers, including editions of poems of Keats, Shelley and Byron.
