29 Oct-27 Nov 2004. Semidetached Reflections, showing at the Blanchardstown Centre, is the latest body of work from Dublin painter Mary Burke. In these new works the artist again focuses on the theme of suburbia. All of the paintings were executed in oil pastel and consist of images of reflections in the bodywork of a car. Mary Burke has exhibited widely in Ireland and abroad. This is her 12th solo exhibition. She has won a number of awards including a major bursary from the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation in Montreal, a United States Information agency fellowship and most recently a Golden Fleece Award in 2003. Her work is included in many public and corporate collections including The Arts Council, OPW, AIB, Ulster Bank, The Irish Intercontinental Bank, Eircom, and Aer Rianta Draiocht. A full colour catalogue accompanies this exhibition.
