The exhibition La Cina Arcaica (3500-221 BC) comprises about 150 precious artefacts such as bronzes, gold masks and jades, all of which are on loan from China. The initiative is part of a mutual exchange of ancient treasures between the two countries and is organised jointly by Chinese and Italian culture ministries. The exhibition is divided into five parts: the birth of civilisation, the coming of the kingdom, sacrifices to the gods and ancestors, music linked to the ceremonies, and the era of the Warring States.
