Izmir: 8,500 years of history
The cultural office of the Turkish embassy in Rome hosts an exhibition featuring the work of Turkish photographer Aykut Uslutekin. The exhibition showcases the city of Izmir which is in competition to host EXPO 2020. Through a series of around 40 images, Uslutekin portrays the city's impressive monuments and beautiful scenery. The nation's third largest city, Izmir is located in the far-western corner of Turkey, just across the Aegean sea from Athens.
