Until 31 Dec 2005. Since September 2004, the Louvre museum has opened its doors every Wednesday and Friday evenings aiming to draw extra visitors, especially the young, to discover alternative views of the museum. Permanent and temporary exhibitions are open to the public and one-off events are organised every Friday that are free of charge for young people under 26, with reductions for others. Students from across the spectrum take part in the dambulations libres evenings while there are conferences where students can exchange ideas with experts on their own preferred subjects.
