2 June-21 Aug 2005. Rock, jazz fusion, rocknroll and rhythm and blues make up the programme of the 2005 edition of the popular event. The Villaggio Olimpico, which hosts the festival, also offers food, cabaret shows and disco dancing. Especially interesting is the Festa dellaltra economia (22-26 June) dedicated to ethical economy. Big names to look out for are those of Pat Metheny and his group (20 June), the Modena City Ramblers (22 June), Tiromancino (25 June), Soft Machine, the prestigious British prog-jazz formation (6 July), the rocknroll pioneer Chuck Berry (7 July), the godfather of soul James Brown (11 July), the master of blues B.B. King (14 July). Then, 15 July sees the start of a mini-festival of hard-rock with Motorhead. And for the U2 megaconcert (22 July), the entire village will come to life with film projections, exhibitions, memorabilia and special events for the Irish groups many fans.
