The world fireworks championships called Caput Lucis will be held for the third year running at Valmontone to the south of Rome from 3-7 August. The competition at Valmontone begins on Thurs. 4 August when pyrotechnists from France and Italy will compete against one another, on Fri. 5 August England will complete against Spain and on Sat. 6 August another Italian team will compete against Brazil. On Sun 7 August it will be the turn of a team from China before the winning team is announced.

Address Caput Lucis is being held at Fire Village at the Valmontone outlet on the Rome-Naples motorway. It opens at 18.00 with stands, parades and dance displays. Fireworks begin at 22.00 and each display lasts 20 minutes. Entrance 7.00
